Ruthanne has been in my thoughts over the past year and I was deeply saddened to hear about her death. I have no doubt that she faced her struggle with much courage. My family has been friends with the Simmons family for many years and I fondly remember when I was younger spending time with her and her family at our summer house on Lake Winnipesaukee and with her family in Stowe, Vermont. I know that she was very blessed to be part of such a wonderful family, to have so many wonderful friends and to have touched the lives of so many people. The website is beautiful. My condolences to Bob, Nick, Laura and the Simmons family.

It's been a long time since I had seen Ruthanne, but I have wonderful memories in school and in the West Newton neighborhood.

Thank to the special friendship between Nick and our son Jason, we have had the privelege of knowing Ruthanne-unfortunately, for too short a time. Nick has inherited many of his mother's qualities: kindness, dignity, modesty and character. Our thoughts, love, and prayers go out to your entire family.

We are very proud to have known Ruthanne. Her strong desire to get the most out of life was apparent to us during the short time we knew her. We were able to have dinner with Ruthanne and Bob on several occasions during the last year and will always remember the laughter and friendships we created. Whenever we were with Ruthanne, her smile warmed our hearts and her generosity and good nature made us feel welcome in her life. We offer our most sincere condolences to Bob, Nick, Laura, and the entire Simmons-Stern family.
