It's a joy to be part of such a warm, welcoming family. I've had the pleasure of meeting RuthAnne just a few times, but each time I was struck by her warmth and love of her children and family. Although I didn't know her well, she was one of those special people who touched others, no matter how much time was shared.

Except for her parents, I claim the priviledge of having known Ruthanne the longest, i.e. from before she was born. Dick & Anne, Dana and I were cruising on a very small yawl, "Small Wonder", in Buzzards Bay in August 1959. Anne was regularly throwing up over the side in the morning and the rest of the day was just fine. Well, the stomach trouble doesn't seem to have done Ruthanne any harm - she grew up to be a fine woman and a credit to her family and it's a great shame that she had to leave this stage so early.

I remember the first time I saw Ruthanne. She was a baby at the time and as an 11 year old I was mesmerized at how tiny she was. She grew to be a poised, caring and loving woman. The last time I saw her was at a family reunion about 2 years ago. The way she handled her disease is an inspiration to many people.

I first met Ruthanne when I was a resident at MEEI. I last saw her at the AGS meeting in PR this year. We had a dance together at one of the evening events. She seemd at peace with herself. I shall always remember her as a lovely, intelligent woman, a good mom and a good doctor. The world is diminished by her passing on. My hearfelt condolences to her husband, children and parents.
